Enjoying our vacations

Kid and I went out last night, just to check out some of the local hangouts. First we went back to Mission Beach, where we figured there would be a lot of people her age. There were a lot of kids there, so we stayed for a couple of hours, and then decided to come back to this area.

We found a spot on Adams street that had 3 bars in walking distance from each other. The one in the middle, where we parked, was full. Instead of waiting in line to get in, we just walked to another place. They had live music, just not playing while we were there. Thankfully, because it was a really small place, and packed with people.

I got more attention there than Kid! Most of it was because people liked my shirt (it's red and flowery). We left there and walked down to the one on the other side, since the one in the middle was still full. On the way, there was a guy standing with a bunch of signs. The one he was holding said, "Compliments, $1.00". He told me "You look great tonight!" Then he put his sign behind the rest, and the next sign said, "The Truth, $2". And he asked, "Do you really want to know the truth?" I just laughed, and said no, and we kept on walking.

The second bar was an Irish place (so was the first one) where we met Shane, who was REALLY toasted. We talked to him for about a half hour, and then he left, and so did we.

The third bar was finally open, and when we went in, we realized it had karaoke. Now, I don't mind karaoke if there are singers singing... but some of the people who sang were NOT singers. Kid decided she wanted to sing. I didn't care, because I've never heard her sing, and she was having a good time, so what the heck.

She found a guy to sing "Summer Loving" from Grease with her, and she didn't do too bad, considering. Besides, most of the rest of the bar was singing with the two of them.

After that, it was time to go home. Kid was feeling a bit drunk, and I was tired, so we came back here to crash.

We both got up pretty late this morning. We hung around the house for a while, neither of us having the energy for much more. Finally, we got ourselves together and made our daily appearance at the beach. I walked in the water again while Kid laid on the sand. The tide was coming in while we were there, and I got pretty wet.

This guy kept pace with me on the beach. He would pick things out of the sand after the wave would go back out.

By the time we left the beach, it was starting to fill up. It was a good time to leave!

We hung out at home again for a while, then went to Henry's and Von's, making a stop before we came home at Crazy Burger to eat. YUM!!! We both love Crazy Burgers!

Now we are just hanging out here, no plans for tonight so far. We are both enjoying our vacations, and that's all that matters.

Enjoy your vacation, savor each day. Tell Kid she is not missing any nice weather at home, supposed to be in the 60's every day this week! Enjoy!

Kid really looks cute and like she's enjoying singing. There was an interesting article in today's Travel section on the San Diego Zoo where for @129 dollars per person, the Roar and Snore program lets you sleep in the Zoo and they take you on some guided walks in the dark. I hope if you go to Mexico, you take the bus and have fun!

Enjoying all the photos! Sounds fun and relaxing. I bet the Grease karaoke was fun... I would get into that, no matter how badly sung! ;D Cute guy!

It sounds like a great vacation so far...sleeping in, wandering around the shops, spending time at the beach, and singing with guys at the bar...
