A few interesting people

I didn't have to work today until 11:30, so I had some time to get a few things done. I went to the bank and the grocery store, because I just can't be out of bagels tomorrow morning! I refilled my water jugs, too. I'll do a better shopping tomorrow, but for today, that was all I needed. Besides, the sales all start tomorrow, and I generally don't buy things that aren't on sale.

So I got home in time to make my lunch, change my shoes and get to work, with a whole two minutes to spare. I really don't like cutting it that close! I spent the whole day out in garden, and since Blue was off today, it was quite peaceful.

I knew when I left the house this morning that I'd forgotten something, and it wasn't until this afternoon when the wind started blowing and it got chilly that I realized I forgot my jacket. I wasn't cold enough for a heater, and if I moved around enough I could stay warm.

There was a dog that came in with it's owner today, named Pooch. I call all the dogs Pooch, just like I call most little boys Bud or Buster. I had to laugh when the lady said that the dog's name was actually Pooch. I'll have to start calling them Fido now. This was a HUGE white German Shepherd. A gorgeous dog with a beautiful coat and very well behaved.

There was also a little girl with her mother and grandmother, who had to be about 12 or 14 months old. I had to get something out of the cart, and when I got close to her she started crying. That kind of made me laugh, too, although she was screaming like I'd smacked her. No, I didn't. Her mother saw the whole thing! Apparently it was nap time.

Everything went pretty smoothly outside today, and the HC came out quickly when I called for a strip, so I'm reasonably certain Norma had a talk with Jason, who was the HC when I ran out of money the other night.

The moron boy who works there, who was hired for full time greeting, had been transferred to garden. The garden people are doing a LOT of complaining about the fact that nothing gets done when he works (HAHAHA) which really isn't a surprise. He had a till out in garden because he was a back-up cashier, and when he left for the day he just left his till out there. Jason came out and I told him MBs till was still there, and Jason said "I could just punch him" which really was funny to hear Jason say. Jason is so very calm and quiet it just was quite unexpected!

And there was no one to give me a break, so I agreed to the deal of closing up garden early and taking my break at the end of the night. Of course, along about 6:30 I really would have liked to sit down, so then I was sorry, but I managed to make it through. That was just about the time I had a customer come through with a cart full of plants. She couldn't find the variety of tomato plant she wanted, so she asked if she could just leave her cart sit while she ran over to Target and come back for it later. I said sure, and she was back about 30 minutes later.

She paid for everything in the cart, and then said, "OH I forgot, I need light bulbs, too" but since she was parked over by the garden door, she wanted to bring the bulbs back and buy them in garden. I said, sure, just go and pick them out, I told her where they were, and she went off to find the lights.

It was well over a half hour later when I finally told everyone what was going on, and shut my till down, and locked the door because I DID want to sit down for a bit before I left, and I just was tired of waiting for her. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I got my till out of the register, she walked outside and wanted to pay out there. Sorry. One of the garden people escorted her inside (because she had a few more plants, and we wanted to make sure THEY got paid for) and I continued counting out my till.

I sat in the break room, and realized I had wanted to buy a few things, which I would have forgotten if I had just got my things together and left. It sure was nice to get in my car and turn on the heat!!

I have the next two days off, and I only have to accomplish the grocery shopping, so I think I should be able to manage that. It's nice to have two days off in a row... I might just go walk around a mall or two!

Dang, the weather was so nice a few days ago, even at night, and now it's back to being colder than a witch's tit after the sun goes down! And don't ask me how I know how cold a witch's tit is! *LOL*

YAY! I talked to spouse who was willing and happy to meet you and then he asked me where you lived in Pasadena. I have such a tiny, tiny brain sometimes. He's flying into LA, don't know why I thought he was going to your part of the state. Wishful thinking I guess. Thank you for being so thoughtful. I'm sorry for creating such confusion.

It's always good to hear that I'm not the only one. My mother used to say, "learn to eat the specials."

Sounds like a long day standing on your feet. Glad to hear that you have a couple of days off work so you can relax and put your feet up (lol)

Why don't you have an extra sweater or something that stays in your locker at work all the time so you don't have to worry about forgetting to take a jacket along every day? Enjoy your days off!
