A Mexico day today

Today was Mexico Day! Since Kid's friend didn't come along (she doesn't have a passport) we went to Mexico today, instead of going after work last Friday. I am kind of glad it worked out this way, because Tecate

was not what I thought. It didn't look at all like the pictures I saw of it online, and it wasn't at all like the areas of Mexico I've been in recently.

So we got back in the car, and drove over to Algodones. I liked that much more. There were a lot more shops, and it seemed cleaner and more tourist-friendly. We didn't actually buy much, but it was an experience for Kid to walk around and look. Plus I really wanted Kid to see the sand dunes!

She got to see them twice. Heh.

Algodones had a lot of dentists and pharmacies. Their shops were mostly in buildings so you could see several shops in one spot. We walked a few blocks until Kid was melting from the heat. We managed to find some pinatas in cool shapes!

They were pretty cool! But we were hot, so we walked back across the border

and got back in the car to come home. But first, I drove the 5 or so miles into Arizona, (just so Kid could say she was there) to get gas in Yuma. It was about 40 cents cheaper there. We took a little break, got some food and drinks, and drove back home.

What a fun day! And new experiences for both of us, since I had never been to Algodones or Tecate before. And it will be early to bed tonight, since tomorrow, we Disney! Woot! It should be a blast!!

Have fun at Disneyland. I want to see photos of you and Kid wearing your Mickey ears! P.S. We need more photos of Kid. She's so pretty!
