Not my best day

Today at work went fast. Too fast, as a matter of fact. But let me hit the high points:

1. I was in returns all day, which was fun, and I relearned what I forgot and a couple of new things.

2. I spilled my soup on the floor when I was trying to get the cover off, so my lunch was an onion roll and a plum.

3. I lost all track of time this afternoon, and before I realized it, it was 5:53. I was off at 5:30, and overtime is strictly forbidden. I am toast.

4. I managed to make it home without incident, although I took the long way around, because at 6PM the freeways are madness, so it took me way longer than normal.

That's it. I'm a bit bummed, and I need some fun. I'm going to see what kind of online trouble I can get into now!

i can't believe you might have a problem at work for staying 23min late. wow-ee! i am glad though that despite your crummy day you were able to learn some new things in returns.

The worst is that you spilled your soup! I would have proclaimed sickness and headed home right then. So do you get paid at all for the extra half hour you worked or do you have to have them put on your time card that you were done at 5:30? I hate it when work is so rigid that you can't just do your job.

I know they sell candy at Home Depot. If my soup had spilled, I would have headed right to the candy rack. Good for you for eating the plum and onion roll!

Ack - well talk to your manager and ask if you can lose some time tomorrow so you don't go over 40 hours. Not sure how it is in California but here in AZ it doesn't matter if you go over 8 hours a day, long as you don't exceed 40 hours a week.
